The Great American Road Trip
Lessons from the road to all
50 states
Alaska
Wyoming
In high school my grandparents gave me a map.
They told me to track everywhere I go.
Here’s what it looks like now:
Seeing every state taught me:
➡️ America is filled with kind, generous, welcoming people.
There were countless times I was in a pinch while doing this. On the side of the road, out of gas, not sure where I was, or just down on my luck. Every single time, without fail, complete strangers helped me get where I was going.
➡️ Travel while you’re young.
You do NOT need to be rich to travel. You just need to find a way –– and there is always a way.
Travel becomes a more fulfilling and memorable experience when you DON’T have enough money to do it. Spending hundreds of dollars to sleep in a comfortable hotel is for suckers. Sleeping bags and tents and the back seat of the car is where great stories are born.
➡️ There’s no better luxury in life than having a reliable car.
A luxury I rarely enjoyed while doing this.
